I was on Pintrest looking for a few preschool ideas and ran across this fun simple dessert. I made them last night. Meg loved them and took most of them to school to share with her lunch friends. Pintrest sent me over to Wee-Eats. I know you will enjoy Wee-Eats and I think you will love these Red Velvet Rice Krispie Treats!!
Red Velvet Rice KrispieTreats - adapted from Wee-Eats
3 Tbsp butter
1 (10.5 oz) bag mini marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup red velvet cake mix
6 cups Cocoa Rice Krispies
vanilla candy coating or white chocolate chips
Line a 9 x 13 pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. (I just sprayed my pan and they were great). In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add marshmallows, cake mix and vanilla - stirring until smooth. Fold in cereal until well coated. Transfer sticky cereal and gently press into pan. Once cooled, drizzle with melted candy coating or white chocolate chips. Once set, cut into bars.
